Welcome back and thanks for sticking around for the second edition of our newsletter. Either that or you haven't worked out how to unsubscribe, and for that we are grateful. This time we look back at where we've enjoyed most in October. Much of it has been spent dining in Soho, and for people who find any excuse to hang out literally anywhere else, we are building up quite the hit-list in central London’s maze. Read on to find our recent faves in food, travel and future saves
Where we've eaten
Tucked down one of Soho’s winding streets, this open fire restaurant stood out with its punchy flavours, bringing their seasonal produce to life with pizzazz. Highlights include the tiger prawns in nduja butter and orange chimichurri and the jammy black figs draped in silky lardo. Despite the narrow setting, as is synonymous with this part of London; a combination of bar-top dining, banquette seats and larger tables satisfy a range of occasions, while the blend of exposed plaster walls, stainless steel table tops, rattan-leather chairs and terracotta tiling works perfectly to achieve a cosy and stylish feel.
Where we've stayed
Margate House
Since announcing their opening earlier this year, we’d been stalking the Margaret House on IG waiting for this flamboyant seaside townhouse to open its doors. Furnished with an eclectic mix of statement pieces, colour-block rooms and local art lining the hallways. If we weren't obsessed with this hotel enough, they are now opening their own kitchen with local chefs with rotating residencies. A must-visit on your trips to the Kentish coast.
Where we're off to next
We have had our eyes on this romantic restaurant, floating in a converted barge along Regent’s Canal, and despite its white tablecloth is far from stuffy. Offering a pared back menu of familiar dishes done well like sesame prawn toast, hake with chips and curry sauce and beef shin tagliatelle, this unassuming dining spot is high on our lists.
