SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER '24

We are definitely feeling the heat of wedding season. Last month we returned to our favourite city up north for one of our best friend’s hen which then took us all the way through to Toulouse for the big day, and this month, TTLW’s very own hotel connoisseur tied the knot in pretty demure and yet very extra fashion at the same time. Outside of celebrating love, we have enjoyed some special places, from ticking off arguably the hottest opening of the summer, staying in one of the bougiest hotels in London and heading back to long-standing faves.

Where we've eaten

This local canal-side cafe is already one of our top brunch spots for its seasonality and relaxed vibe next to the water, but this was our first time trying their lunch and it really is a little gem. Definitely not undiscovered, you have to expect a long queue as there are no reservations, but so worth it if you want to mooch along the canal and fancy your luck.

Where we've stayed

It doesn’t get more extra than this bougie London staycation. In the heart of Soho behind a gloss pink door we found ourselves in an extraordinary dreamworld of upholstered walls, blue leopard print bathrooms and clashing tonal prints everywhere you look which feels both playful and harmonious. We had an incredible evening in their sultry basement restaurant Dear Jackie which serves refined Italian-inspired dishes in a plush low-lit red room, but the real winner here is the sun-drenched rooftop and this is where you’ll find us forever more.

Where's we've got our eye on

The latest neighbourhood wine bar to grace the maze of streets between Islington and Dalston, Goodbye Horses has uplifted an old pub with white-washed brick, a wall of well-loved vinyls and what looks like an abstract tapestry spanning the length of the bar. Accessorising the impressive sculptural oak counter you’ll find seasonal small plates and natural wines, a tale as old as 2019, but this time a glass starts as low as £6. Refreshing.
